Roger Federer defeated Novak Djokovic 7-5, 6-2 in round-robin action on Tuesday at the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals.
Both players looked sharp early on, especially on serve, but Federer seized the momentum, taking the opening set 7-5 in 44 minutes. He would keep rolling in the second set, totaling 19 winners and a like number of unforced errors in closing out the match in one hour and 17 minutes.
Djokovic had previously won 16 straight matches at The O2. The defeat also brought an end to Nole’s 38-match winning run indoors.
Nole: “You have those days as well when you are not feeling your best, not even close to the best. Credit to Roger for mixxing up the pace, giving me always a different ball. He used the slice and spin very wisely. He served very efficiently. I made a lot of unforced erros. Just handd him the win, especially in the second set.”
Match statistics: aces (2-6), double faults (1-2), winners (12-19), unforced errors (22-19), total points won (51-68).
Novak will play vs Tomas Berdych on Thursday to guarantee his spot in the last four.

1) Regardless of score if Nole defeats Berdych and Federer defeats Kei, then Federer winst the group and Nole qualifies 2nd.
2) Regardless of score if Nole defeats Berdych and Kei defeats Federer, then Federer winst the group and Nole qualifies 2nd.
3) If Berdych defeats Nole in 3 sets and Federer defeats Kei in 2 sets, then Federer wins the group and Nole qualifies 2nd.
4) If Berdych defeats Nole in 3 sets and Federer defeats Kei in 3 sets the Federer wins the group and Nole qualifies 2nd.
With any other results it means Nole won´t qualifies to semis.
