Novak Djokovic gets into 3rd round after his victory over Bellucci in Paris

November 3 2015. Novak Djokovic opened his 2015 BNP Paribas Masters campaign on Tuesday evening with a 7-5, 6-3 win over ATP no.40 Thomaz Belluci.

Playing Belluci for the fifth time (perfect 5-0 H2H mark), Nole converted three of six break points he held on the Brazilian’s serve.


Belluci broke first, but Nole fought back with a double break to take the opening set in 57 minutes.


A break in the eighth game of the second set was enough to seal his 74th victory of the season.

Match statistics: aces (2-0), double faults (1-2), winners (25-13), unforced errors (24-24), total points won (75-57)


“It’s always good to have a test like [Bellucci] early in the tournament.”

Nole will play his match on Thursday.
