Novak Djokovic wins fourth Rome Title after defeated Roger Federer in straight sets

Novak Djokovic defended his Internazionali BNL d’Italia title with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Roger Federer on Sunday May 17.

Novak broke as Federer served to stay in the first set and never looked back after that point.


Full of confidence, Nole broke Federer early in the second set and went on to seal his fourth crown at the Foro Italico in 75 minutes.


“It’s always a pleasure to challenge Roger Federer. Now I am very happy,” said Novak. “I feel at home here. I would like to thank everyone. The audience is fantastic. It is always great to be back here.”

Match statistics: aces (5-7), double faults (1-1), winners (19-24), unforced errors (10-23), total points won (66-49).

It was Nole’s 22nd consecutive win, fifth title of 2015 and 53rd of his career. He is now 35-2 on the season, which includes titles in Melbourne, Indian Wells, Miami and Monte-Carlo.
