Novak Djokovic was part of Tennis with Stars Charity match in Rome

Novak Djokovic, Flavia Pennetta, Caroline Wozniacki shared a tennis court with Francesco Totti, Daniele De Rossi, Alessandro Florenzi, Radja Nainggolan (some of the Giallorossi stars).

All of these stars were at the Foro Italico for charity. The organisers of the event, Roma Cares and the Internazionali BNL d’Italia tennis tournament, donated all proceeds from the evening to charitable organisations working to help disadvantaged children.

It promised to be an enthralling night at the Foro Italico and the stars of football and tennis were keen to make their contribution. And what a contribution it was – the Stadio Pietrangeli played host to a truly unique event which saw the stars pair off into doubles teams, with one footballer and one tennis player on each team. It threw up some fantastic pairings: Totti and Djokovic, De Rossi and Juan Monaco, Florenzi and Caroline Wozniacki, Nainggolan and Flavia Pennetta, Ashley Cole and Caroline Garcia, and Leandro Paredes and Luca Vanni.

The glut of celebrity faces on court was more than matched by the hordes of people who’d come to show their support for the event. Indeed, the Rome public – and not just Giallorossi fans – had turned out in force to answer the call of Roma Cares. Also in attendance were Roma CEO Italo Zanzi and director general Mauro Baldissoni, both of whom were mightily impressed by the evening’s success.
